Hardcore Criminal Escapes From Colorado Prison

Douglas J. Alward, 48, has escaped from the Sterling Correctional Facility, 100 miles northeast of Denver, late Sunday night, August 22nd.

Alward was serving a 20 to 40 year sentence for attempted murder, assault, burglary and kidnapping. He has been in and out of prison since 1979,  and is considered dangerous and possibly armed.

He is believed to be from the Colorado Springs area, and is described as being 6’1″, 152 lbs., with blue eyes and a shaved head. If you believe you have seen this man, you should immediately call 911 and do not try to confront this criminal.
